NGO urges more women participation in politics

The Founder, ‘SHE Forum Africa’, a pan-African NGO, Ms Inimfon Etuk, on Wednesday advocated for more women participation in politics in order to promote entrepreneurship and women’s business initiatives in local communities.

In a statement signed by Head, Media unit of the organisation, Mrs Beatrice Yeye-Adekunle, in Abuja Etuk said the NGO seeks to promote women development, leadership and lifestyle conference scheduled for May 25.

She said the conference would focus on promoting conscious participation of women in democratic processes in the country. “However, it is important for us to strengthen our shared value for a global society where everyone lives, works and thrives in their chosen endeavour without perceived or real stereotypes,” she said.

On the theme of the conference tagged, “Evolve, Or Be Left Behind”, Etuk explained that it would refresh women ideas through target strategies and commitments to building a better Africa. She said theme was a reflective and dynamic call to action for women from all socio-economic backgrounds, adding that it was an opportunity to refresh the minds on what it means to stay vital and relevant in a constantly and rapidly changing ecosystem.

Etuk added that the event was committed to creating healthy spaces for women to network, learn, support and grow with each other.

Africa is rising and so are the women of Africa. She Forum Africa is a vibrant conference where we connect women of vision and passion with opportunities and resource to enable them step up and stand out.

We encourage every gender-friendly organisation to register their female members of staff, and the men, to be part of this life-enhancing experience

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja reports that She Forum Africa has as its core mission, to amplify personal development opportunities for African women through strategic mentoring and life-long learning within a home-grown, African-led initiative.
